Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment used to rejuvenate the skin by boosting the body’s natural production of collagen. Microneedling can be performed with a variety of different serums according to your skin’s specific needs or a component of your own blood called platelet rich fibrin (PRF). Treatments with PRF are a natural way to enhance many aesthetic procedures. Treatment begins with a blood draw, similar to one you might have at a lab. The blood is then spun in a centrifuge, which separates out the PRF. The growth factors found in PRF are key to helping reverse signs of aging. Compared to PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), PRF has a higher concentration of platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells, along with a small amount of stem cells. The platelets release the growth factors that are responsible for creating new skin cells, collagen, and blood vessels. When combined with microneedling it results in optimal skin rejuvenation and improved skin healing and can be used for stimulation of hair regrowth.
